Algo 04 · Gold Futures · v1.1

Aurum. Gold Futures Session System.

Our first gold algo for TradingView, built for MGC1! and GC1! futures. It runs on the 15-minute chart, usually one trade a session. Positions run for hours, and most leave on the clock. It is flat by the daily close, with one optional exception.

Ω

Reference Levels

Aurum measures a fixed part of each session to set its reference levels. Later in the day, it trades a decisive move beyond a level. Nothing trades until the measuring window has closed.

τ

Held For Hours

Aurum is not a scalper, and its positions run for hours. Most positions leave on the clock, not at a target. A trade already well ahead can carry into the next session.

Σ

Prop Rails

Set a daily loss cap and a daily profit cap for your account. When a cap is hit, it closes out and waits for the next session. A hard daily flatten time is built in, 4:30 PM New York by default.

λ

Fill-Driven Alerts

Every order carries its own message to your broker. Each message goes out the instant that order fills. One alert covers PickMyTrade, TradersPost, CrossTrade or your own template.

How To Use Aurum.

This guide covers what Aurum does and how to set it up. It walks through the alert, automation and your prop-firm settings. It ends with how to check Aurum on your own chart.

In 60 Seconds

  • What it is. Aurum is our first gold algo, and the fourth in our lineup. It runs as a strategy on your own TradingView chart.
  • What it does. It sets the day's reference levels from a fixed part of the session. It trades a decisive move beyond a level later in the day. Alerts can send each order to your broker the moment it fills.
  • Who it is for. It suits traders who want a patient gold position, held for hours. It is not built for fast scalping or for other markets.
  • Plans. Aurum comes with Pro Monthly, at $90 a month. It also comes with Yearly Pro, at $270 a year. Core, at $60 a month, does not include Aurum.
  • Version. The current version, v1.1, was published on September 15, 2026. Aurum was first released a little earlier, on September 6, 2026.
  • What it does not do. We do not trade for you or manage your account. You run the software on your own TradingView account. It does not predict the market, and it does not promise results.

How It Behaves

  • Reference levels. Gold trades around the clock, but not the same way all day. Aurum measures a fixed part of each session to set its reference levels. Nothing trades until that measuring window has closed.
  • A decisive move. Later in the day, price may make a decisive move beyond a level. Aurum then trades in that direction and holds the position.
  • Closed-bar decisions. Every decision is made on a closed bar. The order then fills at the next bar's open. Entries come one bar late on purpose, so the chart and broker agree. The backtest runs the same rule that the live system runs.
  • Held for hours. Aurum is not a scalper, and its positions run for hours. It usually takes one trade a session, with one position at most. Most positions leave on the clock, not at a target.
  • Flat by the daily close. Aurum closes out by the daily close, with one exception. A trade already well ahead can carry into the next session. The carry is optional, and it is on by default. Max Sessions to Carry limits how many sessions it can last.
  • Stop and target. A protective stop and a target are placed on the chart. The target waits until a trade has had time to develop. When either one fills, the exit goes to your broker that instant.
  • Sizing by conditions. It sizes larger on the days it prefers, and smaller on the rest. It sizes smaller again into a headwind, or when a move is crowded. These rules can cut a setup to zero contracts, and then nothing is sent. You can also pick Fixed Contracts or Risk Budget $ as the sizing mode. Max Contracts is a hard ceiling on any single trade.
  • A pause after a drawdown. After a drawdown, Aurum pauses new trades for a set number of sessions. The pause ends by itself, so the system always comes back.
  • One position at a time. Aurum holds one net position at a time, long or short. The Direction input can limit it to one side.
  • What to expect. It is built for gold that moves with direction over weeks and months. In long sideways stretches, it tends to sit close to break-even. Losing stretches are part of the system, and flat days are normal.
  • On the chart. A reference zone lights up at its edges as price comes near. A live envelope shows the entry, target, stop and open result. Entry tags are graded by size, and exit dots are colored by result. A diamond marks a trade carried overnight, and a panel shows status. The chart layer is display only, and nothing in it sends an order.

Market & Chart

  • Gold only. Aurum is built for COMEX gold futures, on an MGC1! or GC1! chart. Use it on the 15-minute chart, and on no other timeframe. It is not tuned for other markets or other timeframes.
  • Its own chart. Give Aurum its own gold chart, with its own alert. It runs on a different market and on its own clock.
  • The Session Clock. This input group sets when Aurum measures, trades and closes. The Reference Window is the part of the session it measures. The Trading Window sets when new trades may open. The Hard Flatten time is 4:30 PM, New York time, by default.
Know Your ContractAurum runs on MGC1! or GC1!, and MGC is micro gold. Check which contract your chart and your account use. Then set Max Contracts to what your account and your firm allow. The contract specs tool shows the tick value of each.

Your First Day

  1. Load it. Open an MGC1! or GC1! chart, and set it to 15 minutes. Click Indicators, or press /, then choose Invite-Only Scripts. Click Aurum v1.1 [ParadoxAlgo], and it runs a backtest right away.
  2. Run it as shipped. Leave every setting at its default for now. The defaults are ready to run on your gold chart.
  3. Set your prop rails. On a funded or evaluation account, turn on Enable Prop Rails. Set the Daily Loss Cap to your firm's limit, minus a 10–20% buffer. Does your firm need you flat each day? Then switch off Carry a Working Trade Overnight in Exits & Holding.
  4. Choose your provider. Open the strategy settings, then find the Webhook section. Pick PickMyTrade, TradersPost, CrossTrade or Custom Template as your provider. Type the Broker Symbol exactly as your provider names it. Fill in Auth Token and Account ID, but TradersPost needs no token.
  5. Create one alert. Click the alert bell, and set Condition to the strategy. Then pick Order fills and alert() function calls. Leave the pre-filled Message box exactly as it is. Paste your provider's webhook link under Notifications, in Webhook URL.
  6. Paper trade first. Point the alert at a paper or sim account first. Expect flat days, since Aurum takes at most one position per session. Follow the going-live ladder in our docs before you trade a live account.
Alerts Are A Frozen CopyAn alert keeps the settings it had on the day you made it. After any settings change, delete the alert and create it again.

Automation

Aurum can send each order to your broker through a webhook. Four providers are built in: PickMyTrade, TradersPost, CrossTrade and Custom Template. Shifu is not built into Aurum yet, and our other algos may differ. Pick the provider that fits your broker account.

Your accountPick thisWhat to fill in
TradovatePickMyTradeAuth Token, Account ID and the gold Broker Symbol. List several accounts with commas to trade them all.
RithmicPickMyTrade, with the Rithmic Connection NameThe Broker Symbol is usually the contract month, like MGCZ2026.
NinjaTrader 8, or already on CrossTradeCrossTrade, with Destination = NinjaTrader 8 or TradovateThe Broker Symbol is the NinjaTrader name, like MGC 12-26.
Anything elseTradersPost or Custom TemplateTradersPost needs no token, only its webhook link. Custom Template sends a message format you write.
  • PickMyTrade. Fill in both Auth Token and Account ID from PickMyTrade. If either one is blank, the order drops with no error. Rithmic accounts also fill in PMT — Rithmic Connection Name. Give Aurum its own PickMyTrade account, apart from your other algos. PickMyTrade ignores a second same-direction entry on one account. On Aurum, PickMyTrade routes Tradovate and Rithmic accounts only. PickMyTrade setup →
  • TradersPost. TradersPost needs no token, since its webhook link is your identity. Its SL Order Type sets Stop or Stop-Limit for a stop sent with entries. That only applies when Stop Arms After is set to 0. Run one sim trade first, and confirm the exit closes your whole position.
  • CrossTrade. Pick the Destination, either NinjaTrader 8 or Tradovate, in the CrossTrade section. An ATM template name is optional in the same section. The Strategy Tag, AurumGold by default, keeps Aurum's trades apart from other bots. An exit closes the position and cancels any working orders on it.
  • Custom Template. Use it for any other bridge, with a message you write. Set the Flatten Word your bridge uses to close a position. You can also paste your platform's own template into the alert's Message box. It is the same alert, with the same timing.
  • Broker Symbol. Type the gold symbol exactly as your provider names it. A dated contract never rolls by itself, so update it when gold rolls. Aurum does not yet send the format for Interactive Brokers or PickMyTrade's other brokers.
  • Test before going live. Whatever you pick, run one sim trade through it first. Check that the entry and the exit both reach your broker.
Alert conditionWhat you get on Aurum
Order fills and alert() function callsEverything: all trades, plus the daily safety flatten. This is the one to pick.
Order fills onlyAll trades, without the daily safety flatten. This also works.
alert() function calls onlyNo trades at all. Only a daily flatten arrives, at 4:30 PM New York.

Nothing is sent twice, even with the combined condition. Each trade message rides on its own order fill. The only other message is the flat-day safety flatten. A flatten to a flat account does nothing at your broker.

Not The Setup From Our Other AlgosOur other algos usually use alert() function calls only, with an empty Message box. On Aurum, that setting sends no trades at all. If you only get a message at the close, this is why. Change the condition, then delete the alert and create it again.
No Broker Stop At FirstAt default settings, your broker holds no stop right after entry. The stop and target stay on the chart until one of them fills. That fill sends the exit to your broker at the same instant. For a broker-held stop from the first bar, set Stop Arms After to 0. The stop then rides in the entry message, on platforms that accept one.

PickMyTrade is our official webhook partner for automated orders. Code PARADOXALGO takes 10% off at PickMyTrade's checkout. We may earn a commission when you sign up through our partner links. Full steps: Aurum in the docs, webhook automation guide, PickMyTrade.

Prop-Firm Playbook

Aurum's Prop Rails enforce exactly what you enter, and nothing more. Match every setting to your firm's current rule sheet.

SettingWhat it doesSet it to
Enable Prop RailsTurns on the daily loss cap and the daily profit cap.On, for any funded or evaluation account
Daily Loss Cap ($)Closes everything once the day's loss reaches it. No new trade opens until the next session. It counts the open trade, so it can trip before a trade closes.Your firm's daily loss limit, minus a 10–20% buffer
Daily Profit Cap ($)Closes everything once the day's profit reaches it. Trading then stays locked until the next session.A daily target you want to bank, if you use one
Hard FlattenCloses the day's position at this time, 4:30 PM New York by default. A carried trade is the one exception to this rule. The default, unless your firm's cutoff is earlier
Carry a Working Trade OvernightOn by default, it carries a trade well ahead into the next session.Off, if your firm needs you flat each day
Max ContractsA hard ceiling on the size of any single trade. What your account and your firm allow
Daily Safety Flatten AlertOn flat days, it sends one flatten at the daily close. It is a backstop in case a message was missed. On, with the combined alert condition
  • No trailing-drawdown setting. Aurum has no multi-day trailing-drawdown input, unlike our other three algos. So size the daily caps to your firm's limits, minus a 10–20% buffer.
  • A session-based reset. Aurum's daily count resets at the start of each new session. There is no reset-hour setting, so compare it with your firm's day.
  • Pause After Drawdown. New trades pause once the account falls a set amount below its best. The pause ends on its own after a set number of sessions.
  • Exits travel as messages. At default settings, exits reach your broker as messages when they fill. Check that your broker account is flat at your firm's cutoff.
  • Prove it in sim. Run Aurum in your firm's evaluation or sim account first. Confirm each entry and exit reaches your broker account. Check the account is flat whenever the chart is flat. Only then move it to a live account.
No Promise Of A PassWe can't promise that any evaluation will pass with Aurum. That depends on the market during your evaluation and on your settings. The Prop Rails help you stay inside the limits you enter. Firm rules change without notice, so re-check your rule sheet often.

Check It Yourself

You never have to take our word for it. TradingView's Strategy Tester shows every trade, on your own chart and data.

  • Open the Strategy Tester. It runs the moment you add Aurum to a chart. It lists every trade and every metric, on your own data.
  • Judge a long stretch. Aurum's progress comes in clusters, around the strongest gold moves. A single week or month is a handful of trades and proves little.
  • Read three things first. Check the max drawdown against your account size. Check that the trade count is big enough to mean something. Look at the shape of the equity curve over the full range.
  • Treat it as research. A backtest runs on past prices, and it does not predict future results.
The Short-Window TrapThe Last 7 days and Last 30 days presets switch on Deep Backtesting. Typed custom dates switch it on in the same way. Inside your chart's range, results can then come back blank or wrong. That is how TradingView behaves, and it is not an Aurum fault. Keep the tester on the chart range, with no preset and no DEEP tag. On a 15-minute chart, that range is normally longer than 30 days. To check a window, scroll the chart there and read its trade list.
  • Why live can differ. Backtests include slippage and commission, but they cannot model every live fill. A carried trade can open away from where it closed.
  • Same rule, one bar later. Entries fill at the next bar's open, in the backtest and live. That is on purpose, so the chart and your broker agree.
  1. Paper trade first. Point your alert at a paper or sim account for your first sessions.
  2. Check the chain. Did each entry and each exit reach your provider? Confirm each one in your provider's log and at your broker.
  3. Check the exits. Confirm that every exit closed the whole position at your broker. At default settings, the stop reaches your broker only when it fills.
  4. Give it time. Aurum may go days without a trade, and that is normal.
  5. Then climb the ladder. Follow the three-gate ladder in the docs before any live account.

Mastery Path

  • Day 1. Load Aurum on MGC1! or GC1!, on a 15-minute chart. Leave the defaults, and read the Strategy Tester over the full range. Set your Prop Rails and your provider, then build one alert for sim.
  • Week 1. Let the alert run on sim for the whole week. Expect some flat days, since it takes one position a session at most. Check every entry and exit against your broker's order history.
  • Month 1. Change one setting at a time, then re-run the Strategy Tester. Leave the Advanced group at its defaults unless you have tested a change. After any settings change, delete your alert and create it again. Go live only after the gates in the docs pass.

What's New In v1.1

A Broker-Message Updatev1.1 fixes how Aurum's messages reach your broker. The rules, the defaults and the backtest are all unchanged. Your settings stay the same, so nothing needs re-tuning.
  • Step 1: reload your chart. The strategy title on your chart should read Aurum v1.1 [ParadoxAlgo].
  • Step 2: re-create your alert. PickMyTrade and CrossTrade users, delete the Aurum alert and create it again. The old alert keeps sending the old message until you do. For TradersPost users, re-creating the alert is optional.
  • PickMyTrade exits fixed. In v1.0, PickMyTrade refused the message Aurum sent to close a trade. Entries went through, but the stop, target and daily flatten did not. If you ran it before v1.1, check for any position that should have closed.
  • CrossTrade fixed. The v1.0 messages were not in the format CrossTrade reads. So no order could be placed through CrossTrade at all. Now an exit closes the position and cancels its working orders.
  • TradersPost messages. Aurum's messages to TradersPost now carry its standard fields.
  • Cleaner entry tags. An entry tag now appears only when an order was actually sent. Before, a setup cut to zero contracts could still show a tag.

Full setup notes: Aurum in the docs.

Questions

Does Aurum trade for me?

No, Aurum does not trade for you or manage your account. You run the software on your own TradingView account. You can take its trades by hand, or route them to your broker. A webhook provider sends each order the moment it fills.

Which plans include Aurum?

Aurum comes with Pro Monthly, at $90 a month. It also comes with Yearly Pro, at $270 a year. Core, at $60 a month, does not include Aurum. You can upgrade from Core anytime in the billing portal.

Why do I only get a message at the close?

Your alert condition is set to alert() function calls only. On Aurum, that setting sends no trades, only the daily flatten. Change the condition to Order fills and alert() function calls. Then delete the alert and create it again.

My broker shows no stop after entry. Is that right?

Yes, that is how Aurum works at default settings. The stop goes on the chart once the trade has had time to develop. Your broker gets the exit the instant that stop fills. For a broker-held stop from the first bar, set Stop Arms After to 0. It then rides in the entry message, on platforms that accept one.

Why did it enter one bar after the level was cleared?

That is by design, and the backtest works the same way. Aurum decides on a closed bar and fills at the next bar's open. This keeps the chart and your broker in agreement.

It has been flat for days. Is something wrong?

No, flat days are a normal part of how Aurum works. It takes at most one position in each session. It only trades when price clears a reference level. Quiet stretches between the strongest gold moves are expected.

Why does my chart show labels like Target or Session flat?

Those are TradingView's own trade markers, not labels from Aurum. To hide them, open Chart settings, then the Strategy tab. Untick Trades on chart, and those extra labels disappear.

Can I use Shifu with Aurum?

Not yet, because Shifu is not built into Aurum today. Our other algos may differ, so check each one's own guide. On Aurum, the four built-in providers keep working, PickMyTrade included.

Can I run Aurum with the other algos?

Yes, on its own gold chart with its own alert. The index algos, like Paradox Algo, stay on their own charts. Plan your max contracts for the worst case, with every algo in a trade. Give each algo its own PickMyTrade account, too.

Pairs With

Aurum runs on its own, on its own gold chart. Pro Monthly and Yearly Pro also include these separate tools. Each one gives you its own read, beside the algo.

  • SignalWave. Grades trend-regime flips, for higher-timeframe context.
  • EdgeFlow. A bounded momentum-and-flow gauge for timing your own entries.
  • DeepWave. Shows how active the market is for the hour, with an expected range.
  • TrendScore. Scores trend strength and marks choppy, range-bound stretches.
  • QuantumFlow. Maps SMC and ICT structure on your chart for you.
  • Nova AI Trader. Scores and grades each setup live, and draws its targets and stop.
  • Stratera. A macOS app that searches TradingView strategy settings for you.

For education and research. Aurum is trading software, not advice. Trading involves substantial risk of loss. Past performance does not predict future results.
