How To Use Nova.
Nova answers one question: how strong is this setup right now? It scores each setup from live volatility, flow and structure reads. When an entry prints, Nova tags it with a letter grade. It draws three targets and a stop for that entry. Then it follows the trade until it reaches an exit. Every input in the settings has a plain-English tooltip. Nova describes setups; it does not tell you to take one.

Your First Day
Load it. Open Indicators → Invite-Only Scripts and add Nova AI Trader.
Set Quick Setup. Set Market Type to the market you chart; Futures is the default. Set Your Style to how long you hold: Scalping, Day Trading or Swing Trading. Leave Signal Mode on Balanced to start.
Check your hours.When to Trade ships on Market Hours, set for New York time. Trading a different window? Choose Custom and enter your own.
Read one past trade. Scroll back to an entry. Find its grade, its three targets, its stop and the dotted Trail Stop line. Then find the label that shows how it closed.
Add two alerts. Create one alert for ⚡ LONG Signal and one for ⚡ SHORT Signal. Set each trigger to Once Per Bar Close. Automation stays off until you switch it on.
Check it on paper. Follow the setups on paper for a week before you act on them or automate them.
What you see on the chart
Entry tag and gradeEach entry prints a tag with its grade, like LONG · ENTRY · A+. The tag rides the live trade and clears when the trade closes. The grade describes the setup, not the outcome. The Detailed and Analytics styles add the reward-to-risk and the score to the tag.
Three targets and a stopNova draws TP1, TP2, TP3 and a STOP line at each entry. Each target label shows its distance from entry in R. One R is the distance from entry to the first stop.
Trail Stop line (dotted)This is the live stop, and it tightens as the trade runs. The STOP line keeps the first stop for reference. Trail Stop also appears in the Data Window and CSV exports.
Exit labelsWhen a trade ends, a label marks how it closed. ⇄ Reversed marks a trade that an opposite entry closed. Matching alerts cover targets, breakeven exits, stops and reversal exits, and ◎ Target Hit fires when TP1 or TP2 is reached while the trade is still open.
Trend line, flips and candle tintA glowing trend line and tinted candles show Nova's trend read. A small marker prints where the trend flips. Clean style hides these markers.
Futures layerWith Futures Intelligence on, Nova adds session levels on futures charts. Small ✕ marks flag bars with unusually large volume; Clean style hides them. Neither setting is display-only: switching Futures Intelligence off, or changing Flow Detection, changes which setups fire.
DashboardA live panel shows the trend, higher-timeframe bias, position, score and grade. The live score sits in the panel's Confluence row. The dashboard's settings tooltip explains HTF, R and R:R.
Chart StyleChart Style offers Clean, Standard, Detailed, Analytics and Minimal. Choose the one that keeps your chart easy to read.
Show Trade HistoryIt is on by default and keeps the entry, stop and target lines of past trades. Turn it off for a cleaner chart.
Automation setup
Pick a supported platform. Nova has Shifu, PickMyTrade, TradersPost, CrossTrade and Custom Template built in, with PickMyTrade as the default. Through PickMyTrade, Nova routes Tradovate and Rithmic accounts; on a Rithmic account, use PickMyTrade. CrossTrade can route to NinjaTrader 8 or to Tradovate. Generic (Universal) sends a simple order message for other bridges.
Switch on automation in Nova's settings. Turn on Enable Webhook Alerts, then set Webhook Provider to your platform.
Fill in your platform's fields. Most platforms need Auth Token / API Key and Account ID. Leave both empty for TradersPost and Shifu, because their webhook link identifies you. On a Rithmic account, also fill PMT — Rithmic Connection Name. PickMyTrade takes several account IDs, separated by commas. CrossTrade takes one account name per alert, copied exactly.
Set the Broker Symbol. Enter the exact symbol name your platform expects for this market. TradersPost needs the dated contract with a four-digit year, like MNQZ2026. On Shifu, index futures can use the continuous symbol, like MNQ1! or ES1!. Other futures need the dated contract, like MGCZ6: until you type it, Nova sends nothing and the dashboard shows BLOCKED.
Choose the target your broker holds.Webhook TP Target sends TP1, TP2 or TP3 as the broker's target. The default is TP2, the middle target.
Create one alert. In TradingView, set Condition to Nova and Any alert() function call. Leave the Message box empty, because Nova writes the message. Under Notifications, turn on Webhook URL and paste your platform's link.
Test on a demo or paper account first. Confirm the entry, target, stop and exit all reach your broker, at the distances drawn on the chart.
Exits go out when the bar that ends the trade closes.
On a reversal, Nova sends the close first, then the new entry. The ⇄ Reversal Exit alert fires for that close.
Automation sends nothing on a Heikin-Ashi, Renko or other non-standard chart, because its prices are not real trades. The dashboard shows BLOCKED. Use a regular candle chart.
Futures orders are always whole contracts. A decimal quantity is rounded down, minimum 1.
TradersPost exits go out as market orders. Keep Allow signal overrides ticked in TradersPost so Nova's order type, target, stop and quantity are used.

The broker-side trailing stop
What it doesBroker-Side Trailing Stop is optional and works with PickMyTrade and TradersPost. When it is on, each entry carries Nova's trailing stop. The broker then holds and moves that stop itself.
PickMyTradeNova hands the trail to PickMyTrade's own trailing stop. PickMyTrade documents its trailing stop for Tradovate accounts. On a Rithmic account, check the trail on a sim account first.
TradersPostTradersPost has no trail that starts at a trigger. Its stop trails from entry at the full stop distance. That trailing stop needs a Tradovate or NinjaTrader connection.
CrossTradeNova sends no trailing stop to CrossTrade. On NinjaTrader 8, a saved ATM template can run the trail instead. NinjaTrader must stay running and connected for that to work. Set your order quantity to the template's contract count.
On your chartThe Trail Stop line and the ◈ Trail Update alert work either way. The broker's trail can differ from the chart line. Compare them on a sim trade before you rely on it.
Stop updatesNova does not send a stop update on every bar. TradingView limits how many alerts can fire in a short time. Skipping per-bar updates keeps exit alerts from being crowded out.
Custom TemplateYour template can include the live stop with the {trail_price} placeholder.
Broker-side breakeven
What it doesNova moves its stop to breakeven on the chart after TP1. With Broker-Side Breakeven on, PickMyTrade moves your broker's stop to your entry once price travels TP1's distance from your fill. It is on by default, and you can turn it off.
Where it worksPickMyTrade on a Tradovate account. It is not sent on a Rithmic connection, with Broker-Side Trailing Stop on, or when your Webhook TP Target is TP1. Other platforms keep the original stop until Nova's exit closes the trade.
TimingYour broker moves the stop as soon as price travels that distance. The chart applies its breakeven from the next bar. On a bar that touches the level and snaps back, the broker can close a trade at breakeven that the chart carries on.
Mastery Path
Day 1. Set Quick Setup and learn to read one trade: its grade, targets, stop and trail line.
Week 1. Watch Nova on your market for a week. Note which grades show up in which conditions. Keep just the two entry alerts running while you learn.
Month 1. Add one sibling tool with a different job, such as SignalWave for the trend regime. Automating? Start on a demo or paper account, and confirm every entry, target, stop and exit reaches your broker.
Updating to v2.5
Delete and re-create your Nova alertsEach TradingView alert runs a frozen copy of the script. It keeps the version that was live when you made it. After you update, delete your old Nova alerts and create new ones. New features, like broker-side breakeven and the two new alerts in v2.5, only reach your broker through new alerts. Changing a setting never changes an alert that is already running.
Reload and re-create. Reload your chart; the title should read Nova AI Trader v2.5 [ParadoxAlgo]. Then delete your Nova alert and create it again: Condition Any alert() function call, Message box empty. Run one sim trade before a live account.
Shifu. A new option in Webhook Provider. Leave Auth Token and Account ID empty. Index futures can use the continuous symbol; other futures need the dated contract, like MGCZ6.
Broker-side breakeven. On PickMyTrade with a Tradovate account, your broker's stop now moves to your entry once price travels TP1's distance, like Nova's chart stop. On by default.
Two new alerts. ◎ Target Hit fires when TP1 or TP2 is reached and the trade is still open. ⇄ Reversal Exit fires when an opposite entry closes the trade, which used to send no alert. ✓ Long TP and ✓ Short TP still mean the trade closed after TP2.
TradersPost exits are market orders. Keep Allow signal overrides ticked in TradersPost.
Your Auth Token and Account ID no longer show on the chart. Shared a chart screenshot with automation set up? Reset your token in your provider's dashboard.
Regular candles only for automation. Nova sends nothing on Heikin-Ashi, Renko or other non-standard charts. If you automated on one, flatten any open position there before updating.
Your saved settings carry over. Settings were reordered to match our other tools, and nothing was renamed. The 15 existing alert titles are unchanged. How Nova finds and manages trades is unchanged.
From v2.4. Exact stop and target distances on every market, forex pairs included; an alert made on v2.3 still sends the old rounded distances. CrossTrade follow-up closes log as blocked, and the chart got shorter tags and a cleaner Clean style.
From v2.3 (August 25, 2026). The Broker-Side Trailing Stop, the Trail Stop line and the ◈ Trail Update alert. TradersPost exits also cancel the resting target and stop.
Still on QuantLynk? It is retired. Close any open QuantLynk trade first. Then pick a supported platform and create a new alert.
Mistakes to avoid
Keeping an old alert after an update. It keeps sending the orders of the version it was made on.
Using a setting to pause automation. Settings never reach an alert that is already running. To pause, pause or delete the alert in TradingView's alert panel.
Leaving Auth Token or Account ID blank. PickMyTrade, CrossTrade and Custom Template then drop the order silently. TradersPost is different: leave both empty there.
Sending MNQ1! to TradersPost. TradersPost rejects a continuous symbol like that. Use the dated contract with a four-digit year, like MNQZ2026.
Sending MGC1! or another non-index continuous symbol to Shifu. Nova sends nothing and the dashboard shows BLOCKED. Use the dated contract, like MGCZ6.
Unticking Allow signal overrides in TradersPost. TradersPost then uses its own order settings instead of Nova's order type, target, stop and quantity.
A wrong Flatten Word. On Custom Template or Generic, exits then never close the trade. Use the close word your bridge expects.
Sharing one PickMyTrade account with an algo. Two tools on one account can block or stack each other's entries. Give Nova its own PickMyTrade account.
A contract count that does not match your ATM template. On CrossTrade, your order quantity must equal the template's contract count.
Changing Your Timezone while When to Trade is Market Hours. The built-in hours are set for New York time and follow Your Timezone, so another timezone shifts them. Keep America/New_York, or choose Custom and set your own window.
Expecting the Day Trading style to close trades at the session end. Nova never closes a trade at the session end. Each trade runs to a target, its stop or a reversal, so a position can carry past the session. On a prop account, make sure you are flat by your firm's cutoff.
Reading the grade as a forecast. A+ describes the setup on that bar. It does not predict how the trade will end.
Skipping the paper test. Confirm the entry, target, stop and exit arrive before going live.
Questions
How do I add Nova to my chart?
Open any TradingView chart and click the Indicators button. Choose Invite-Only Scripts, then pick Nova AI Trader.
Is Nova an auto-trading bot?
No. Nova is an indicator that marks setups on your chart. You decide whether to act on each one. If you switch on automation, it sends Nova's entries and exits onward.
How does Nova score a setup?
It reads live volatility, flow and structure as each setup forms. That read becomes a score and a letter grade. We keep the exact method private, as with every Paradox tool.
What does the grade mean?
It is Nova's label for how strong the setup scores. A higher grade means a higher score on that bar. It describes the setup, not the outcome of the trade.
Do I need automation to use Nova?
No. Nova draws every entry, target and stop on your chart. Automation is optional and stays off until you switch it on.
Which brokers work through PickMyTrade?
Nova routes Tradovate and Rithmic accounts through PickMyTrade. PickMyTrade lists more brokers, but Nova does not send their format yet. That includes Interactive Brokers, TopstepX and TradeStation.
Can I use Shifu with Nova?
Yes, since v2.5. Pick Shifu in Webhook Provider and leave Auth Token and Account ID empty. Index futures can use the continuous symbol, like MNQ1!. Other futures need the dated contract, like MGCZ6. On a Rithmic account, use PickMyTrade.
Does Nova move my broker's stop to breakeven?

Can I get alerts without automation?
Yes. Nova has 15 named alerts, such as ◈ Trail Update. Create any of them from TradingView's alert panel.
Can I automate Forex or crypto?
Yes. Since v2.4, Nova sends each market's exact stop and target distance, forex pairs included. Update to the latest version and create a new alert first. An alert made on v2.3 still sends the old rounded distances. Then run a paper test before going live.
Is Nova part of Core?
No. Nova is one of six indicators in Lifetime Access and the Pro plans. Core includes the Paradox Algo strategy, not the indicators.
